Questions Before You Build
Do I need coding skills or previous AI experience?
You need neither coding skills nor previous AI experience. We take you through the whole process with detailed instructions at every step, including what could go wrong and how to resolve it. You can confidently copy each prompt and follow the steps comfortably. Basic finance or accounting knowledge helps you judge whether the result makes sense.
Which course should I take first?
Choose by both the finance task and the kind of build you want to learn.
- Journal Explorer is the most straightforward starting point: a focused tool you can build and master quickly.
- The AP Fraud Dashboard is ideal for learning rule-based tools: we review 24 specific fraud patterns one by one and provide a template for adapting those rules to your own case.
- Reconciliation Tool is the most comprehensive and highest-priced course. Its many specific actions are developed in five separate build steps; about an hour of video also demonstrates new, more effective ways to reconcile (having reconciled the opening and closing balance and the bridge at once), including workflows that were not practical in Excel.
- Reconciliation and Journal Explorer complement each other.
- All three courses stand alone and although we apply similar basic functions (import/export of data, data quality checks, filters, etc.), in each course we apply them differently to best fit our goals.
Which AI tool do I need, and how do I run the finished tool?
Use an AI service that can work with the course files and return downloadable tools, such as a suitable ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Claude or a similar service. Prefer a paid plan so file and usage limits do not interrupt the build.
AI develops the application as a local HTML file: open it in your browser and start using it, without a separate installation. The finished course tool runs locally and needs no ongoing AI subscription or a server. Use AI again when you want to develop changes or new functions.

Am I creating a finance tool or an AI chatbot?
A finance tool. The courses build browser-based applications for reconciliation of B/S and P&L accounts, AP fraud red-flag investigations or complex journal review. AI is used to help develop and improve the tool but it is not making live accounting decisions for you. These tools are not an ERP replacement or a turnkey multi-user enterprise platform.
Why learn to build it if working tool versions are supplied?
Use the supplied working versions with the fictitious course data first. Explore the exact cases demonstrated in the lessons and practise the workflow. Once you have played with the tool, customizing it or building your own following our instructions becomes much more straightforward because you know what to expect.
The course has two objectives: develop a practical tool and develop your skills. You can customize and extend the tool, while reusing what you learn about filters, imports, exports and workflow design to create your next application. The goal is not just to own this tool—it is to build your capability to keep creating and improving tools.

How are the AI-built tool and its results checked?
AI does much of the checking as part of development, testing most functions it can execute. You do not need to check every function yourself: focus on the important outputs, controls and browser workflows. The course shows what to ask AI to check and how to compare the result with supplied fictitious data and reference versions. If AI cannot genuinely execute a particular check, we explain how you can complete it. When you add or change a function, ask AI to check the affected behavior and review the important results.
Can I use company or client data safely?
Build and practise with the fictitious course data. We explain how to customize the tool safely while respecting data privacy and company policies, including when to use fictitious or sanitized examples rather than sending company or client data to AI. The finished course tools process imported data locally in your browser. Follow the course guidance and your organization’s permitted AI use, security and storage rules during both development and everyday use.
Can I adapt the tools to my ERP exports or consulting clients?
Yes. Develop a first prototype and adapt the same core tool to different ERP exports or client workflows. Use the course’s customization guidance and rule templates where supplied, defining the fields, mappings and functions your case requires. This lets you replicate the core approach efficiently while delivering saved time and standardized, improved processes. Check the important results for each adapted version and follow the client’s data-handling and approval requirements.
Do these courses offer CPE/CPD credits and a certificate?
Each individual course page states its estimated credits, instructional basis and completion requirements. Confirm acceptance and credit treatment with your professional or licensing body. A Certificate of Completion is available after you meet the relevant course requirements; it is not a software-development certification or a guarantee of regulatory approval.
What do I receive, how long is access, and can my company buy seats?
Each course includes its own downloadable notes and prompts, working tool versions, practice files and supporting resources. Check its full page for the exact inventory.
